Not only does his girlfriend leave him, but he learns that his mother and he will be moving to Fresno. Six months after the fight in the parking lot, Danny becomes upset because his girlfriend Ali decides to leave him for a popular football player from UCLA.

The movie brings back the beloved characters from the first film and reunites Ralph Macchio as the main character Danny and Noriyuki Miyagi, his martial arts mentor. The Karate Kid II is a sequel to the first Karate Kid and picks up where the last movie left off. Chozen is someone who is related to Sato, and he challenges Danny to a fight. Miyagi and Danny eventually save Sato because Sato is trapped in a storm. As the story goes on, Miyagi learns Yukie never married Sato, and Yukie and Miyagi end up going to the tea ceremony together. Sato then challenged Miyagi to a fight to the death, and instead of fighting his best friend, Miyagi left Okinawa. Sato and Miyagi trained together in karate as children, and Sato became insulted when Miyagi announced he was going to marry Yukie. Sato was not only the richest man in town, but he was also Miyagi’s best friend. Her parents arranged for her to marry the richest man in town, Sato (played by Danny Kamekona). Danny has no idea why Miyagi left for Okinawa, and Miyagi tells Danny that he was in love with a woman named Yuki (played by Nobu McCarthy).
Danny decides he wants to go with Miyagi, and he ends up tagging along. Soon Miyagi finds out from a letter that his father is dying, and he decides to return to Okinawa. Miyagi then surprises him by telling Danny he has a guest room in his home, and Danny doesn’t have to move to Fresno with his mother.
